When we poured the slab, we used a petrol driven vibrator to help ensure there were no air bubbles in the slab.
However when we pulled off the formwork, there was one spot where the vibrator was not used properly.
It just goes to show you have to be very thorough.
When I come to put the flashing on the slab rebate step, I will first blast out these holes with compressed air to clean out any possible insects, then fill the holes with mortar. This is simply to stop water ingress, and insect nests.
